Last week we talked about our awesome lab staff who are responsible for sample collection and processing during a clinical trial. This week, we’re highlighting our expert bioanalytical scientific team!

At the Altasciences facility in Laval, Quebec, we have more than 100 dedicated bioanalytical scientists who work in our 20,000-sq.-ft. laboratory with the latest equipment to support all phases of clinical development (Preclinical through Phase I-IV).

Our facility is open 24/7 with a capacity to analyze over 50,000 study samples per month! With 15% of our resources allocated to R&D, 30+ scientists are dedicated to developing complex methods for small molecules, biomarkers, oligonucleotides, proteins, and peptides — just to name a few! They also have the scientific evaluation/knowledge to advise sponsors on the appropriate assay platform (LC-MS or ELISA or Hybrid).

We are proud of the quality and innovative work of our scientists and analysts! They analyze over 400,000 samples each year and have validated over 500 methods. The Bioanalytical Services Department is a leader in the development of robust bioassays for New Molecular Entities and commercially available compounds analyzed in various biological fluids and tissues for different animal species and humans.

If you haven’t seen our lab staff in action in Quebec we’d love to host a visit for you. You can schedule a tour with our team at our site in Laval, Canada and taste the infamous poutine!
